Job summary

Devon is seeking a Senior Geologist to drive growth across the Appalachian Basin by originating and maturing exploration opportunities. The role requires a proven track record in onshore unconventional plays and leadership within a subsurface team.

You will collaborate with reservoir engineering and technology groups to translate geoscience into executable opportunities, mentoring peers and guiding complex plays from concept to execution. Occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in geology or geophysics required.
• Experience with unconventional plays in onshore basins preferred.
• Ability to mentor and lead technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Originate, risk, and mature exploration opportunities in Appalachia basin.
• Lead regional geological risk and resource analyses using integrated data.
• Mentor subsurface team and communicate technical findings to leadership.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineering to assess economics of prospects.
• Travel up to 10–15% for field visits.
