Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer to help build our geoenvironmental practice across Columbia, MD; DC; Richmond, VA; Pennington, NJ; and Bloomfield, NJ offices. The role emphasizes entrepreneurial leadership, business development, and delivering technically challenging projects for landfills, remediation sites, and waste facilities.

You will mentor teams, oversee investigations from planning through post-closure monitoring, and collaborate with multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• 8+ years of geoenvironmental consulting or design experience; landfills/remediation focus
• Strong civil/environmental engineering foundation; site characterization, earthwork, slope stability
• Proven ability to lead business development, client relationships, and proposals
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, permitting processes, and industry standards in related sectors
• Excellent leadership, communication, and ability to guide multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geoenvironmental projects (landfills, remediation sites, transfer stations)
• Provide strategic technical guidance and client advisory services
• Drive practice growth via business development and proposals
• Oversee investigation, planning, design, permitting, construction, and post-closure activities
• Mentor staff and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
• Travel to client sites and offices as needed
