Job summary

Natera is seeking a Senior Bioinformatics & Genomics Data System Engineer to join the DSPE DevOps team. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and update DSPE's software tools, data platforms, cloud platforms, automation systems, and analytics systems.

Responsibilities include architecture design, performance optimization, and production-grade tool development for genomics workloads, with emphasis on reliability, scalability, and best-practice SDLC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Eng/Bioinformatics or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required; 6+ years for Bachelor's, 3+ for Master's, 2+ for Doctorate.
• 3+ years in highly regulated environments (e.g., CLIA/FDA).
• 3+ years in Software Engineering or DevOps teams.
• Experience developing/maintaining production software/tools, esp. in high-throughput settings.
• Experience creating design/specification documents, verification/validation docs, and user manuals.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of software tools and systems with robust functionality.
• Contribute to design, development, testing, deployment, validation, maintenance, and updates for DSPE tools and data/cloud/automation systems.
• Create system architecture and infrastructure design documents with DSPE leadership.
• Monitor and optimize performance (RAM, Disk IO, Network IO, CPU usage).
• Contribute to technical documentation and training materials.
• Train/coach DSPE team members on new technologies and guidelines.
• Represent DSPE Software Engineering & DevOps in stakeholder meetings.
