Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Lead Engineer for Generator Engineering to lead complex engineering tasks across the generator centerline fleet. You will guide outages, assess equipment condition, and develop technical recommendations to improve reliability and performance.

The role requires a BS in Engineering (ABET-accredited) and PE status with 8+ years of experience in power generation. Travel to multiple sites within the Florida service territory is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering from ABET-accredited program required.
• PE license required or clearly active.
• 8+ years engineering experience in power generation or related field.
• Master's degree will be considered in lieu of BS.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline engineering support for generator centerline equipment and outages.
• Develop outage work scope and documentation across multiple sites.
• Lead technical investigations, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, and vendors to ensure compliant maintenance.
• Oversee safety, quality, and documentation for major work.
