Job summary
Turbine Technology Services in Orlando, FL, seeks a Generator Controls & Protection Engineer to design, configure, test, and support generator control and protection systems for power facilities. This role focuses on excitation systems, turbine governors, relay protection, and plant automation to ensure safe, reliable operation.
You will perform FAT/SAT, field commissioning, troubleshoot issues, and provide training and technical assistance during outages and commissioning, with travel as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with power emphasis.
- 5+ years of generator controls, protection engineering, or power automation experience.
- Experience with generator excitation, turbine controls, and protective relaying preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and support generator control, excitation, and protection systems.
- Develop control narratives, specifications, drawings, relay settings and protection logic.
- Integrate generator controls with PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, and plant automation.
- Test protective relays and conduct FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup support.
- Troubleshoot issues, analyze relay events, and propose improvements.
- Provide field support and technical assistance during outages and upgrades.
