GE Aerospace Defense & Systems seeks a Senior AI/ML Engineer to join the Emerging Technologies team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. You will help shape how LLMs and generative AI are applied across the software development lifecycle for mission-critical avionics and defense systems.

You will work on a cross-functional team building secure, trustworthy AI-enabled tools that improve how engineers write code, generate tests, verify requirements, review changes, and create technical documentation.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or ML engineering.
• Active US government security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and deploy LLM-powered tools for code generation and documentation.
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines grounded in internal artifacts.
• Create agentic workflows interacting with compilers, analyzers, and CI/CD tools.
• Evaluate models based on performance, cost, latency, licensing, and security.
• Apply prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and efficient adaptation for aerospace use cases.
• Optimize deployment for secure, on-premises, air-gapped, and classified environments.
• Integrate AI into IDEs, CI/CD pipelines, and software quality processes.
• Establish evaluation methods, guardrails, and measures for security and reliability.
• Mentor teams and drive AI adoption across GE Aerospace engineering.
