Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Generation Project Engineer at the Senior or Principal level to lead engineering efforts for large-scale utility generation capital projects, including natural gas plants, CCGT, renewables, and energy storage. The role acts as engineering lead and technical coordinator across internal teams, EPC contractors, developers, OEMs, and project stakeholders.

It emphasizes leadership, project execution, communication, and issue resolution rather than hands-on design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
• 4+ years for Senior Engineer or 8+ years for Principal Engineer.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering efforts.
• Experience reviewing design packages, technical specifications, and deliverables.
• Experience leading design reviews and RFI management.
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Preferred: PE license, power generation, natural gas/CCGT, utility, EPC, Owner’s Engineer, solar, wind, or BESS experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as engineering lead and technical coordinator across internal teams, EPC contractors, developers, OEMs, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Focus on engineering leadership, project execution, communication, and issue resolution rather than hands‑on design.
• Lead engineering efforts on large utility-scale capital projects across natural gas, CCGT, renewables, and battery storage.
• Engage with contractors, consultants, vendors, and engineering teams to align scope, schedule, and deliverables.
