Job summary

Shames Construction Company in California is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to oversee multiple active commercial projects, mentoring Superintendents and field teams.

You will partner with senior leadership to enforce field standards, safety, quality, and schedule, travel to active sites, and manage manpower and turnover.

This full-time role offers competitive pay and benefits and requires flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial construction field experience, including superintendent or senior leadership roles.
• Experience with a mid-size commercial GC and overseeing multiple projects/teams.
• Strong knowledge of means, methods, scheduling, and field operations, plus safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support to Superintendents and AP Superintendents across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations leadership to maintain standards and execution.
• Conduct regular jobsite visits to evaluate safety, quality, schedule, organization and subcontractor performance.
• Mentor, coach, and develop Superintendents and field staff across sites.
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and schedules to support field execution.
• Travel regularly to active project locations and support turnover, mobilization, and phasing.
