Job summary

W3Global is seeking an experienced General Superintendent for Heavy Civil Roadway projects in Norcross, GA. You will oversee field operations, lead multiple crews, and ensure work meets GDOT standards on busy public infrastructure projects.

The role requires hands-on, face-to-face collaboration with owner reps, engineers, and inspectors, with a strong emphasis on safety, schedule adherence, and budget control. GDOT familiarity is essential.

Qualifications

• Direct experience as a superintendent on GDOT or municipal/public-works projects.
• 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience, including at least 5 years as a superintendent on roadway or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of GDOT specifications, inspection processes, and public-works project delivery.
• Hands-on experience with grading, drainage, curb and gutter, base, paving coordination, and utilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field operations across multiple active roadway, drainage, and utility projects.
• Lead, mentor, and hold accountable superintendents, foremen, and field crews.
• Plan and manage project schedules, three-week look-aheads, and crew/equipment allocation across jobs.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and lead safety meetings, inspections, and incident response.
• Ensure work meets GDOT specifications, plans, and inspection requirements.
• Serve as the primary field contact for GDOT and municipal inspectors, engineers, and owner representatives.
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and utility owners.
• Oversee traffic control and MOT plans, and erosion/sediment control compliance.
• Track production, labor, equipment, and material costs against budgets; identify variances.
• Review daily reports and field documentation; manage change orders and extra-work docs.
• Coordinate utility locates through Georgia 811 and manage work around utilities.
