A leading company is seeking a skilled maintenance worker to perform a variety of building and community facilities maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across various systems. Candidates should have substantial journeyman-level experience in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work, along with effective communication skills to interact with residents.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision on an assigned shift, perform a variety of skilled building and community facilities maintenance tasks. The work involves regular contact with other departments and divisions, and performs related work as required.
Supervision is generally provided by a General Maintenance Foreman or an assigned department foreman. Work is usually performed independently but may be part of a small crew.
Graduation from high school and substantial journeyman-level maintenance experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or building trades, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions, standard practices, tools, and materials of building maintenance.
Ability to adapt tools and parts to repair problems, operate skilled equipment, work from sketches and drawings, understand instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to establish effective working relationships and understand the needs of senior residents.
Skills in the use and care of tools, materials, and equipment used in building maintenance.
