Job summary

Hiscox seeks a Complex Claims Specialist for General Liability with a focus on construction defect. The role requires senior-level expertise adjudicating claims within authority, and providing operational support to the claims team.

The position supports hybrid work with in-office attendance at least two days weekly for nearby offices; remote candidates may be considered. Location options include Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Manhattan, Scottsdale, and Hartford areas.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of claims handling experience within General Liability & Bodily Injury.
• Proven ability to affect high severity claim outcomes through investigation and negotiation.
• Expert knowledge of coverage theories and litigation processes.
• Mentoring others and providing guidance to claims teams.

Responsibilities

• Strategize and maximize early settlement opportunities for Construction Defect and 3rd Party Property Damage Claims.
• Draft and Review coverage analyses.
• Manage/Partner with local defense counsel and monitor litigation.
• Drive litigation best practices and manage defense counsel deployment.
• Assess exposures and adequacy of claim reserves.
• Attend mediations and settlement conferences when appropriate.
• Liaise daily with insureds and brokers.
