Job summary

Sedgwick is hiring a Remote Liability Claims Examiner to handle high-exposure General Liability claims for a premier client base. The ideal candidate will manage complex coverage scenarios, develop defense strategies with clients and counsel, and drive cases toward timely resolutions from a flexible, remote work setting.

We seek five years of General Liability claims experience, a bachelor’s degree, and a commitment to accuracy, collaboration, and exemplary service.

Qualifications

• Five years of General liability claims management experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Reviews/acts on reports; responds to inquiries; seeks legal opinion and early resolution; communicates resolution to parties.
• Handles high end cases with serious injuries and/or complex coverage scenarios.
• Responds to decisions, agreements, and/or court orders; creates action plan and determines need for examination.
• Identifies cases for settlements/redemptions.
• Gathers documents and coordinates with client designees.
• Requests legal/private investigation; coordinates with local counsel; monitors performance.
• Responds to plaintiff's counsel, union, employee, or client requests.
• Identifies issues and formulates defense strategy.
• Establishes/adjusts accrued liability and approves administrative expenses.
• Identifies subrogation opportunities and manages process.
• Attends mediations, trials, arbitrations or hearings as needed.
• Works with partners to affect early return-to-work.
