Wilson Elser's McLean office is currently seeking a Senior General Liability Attorneywith experience in general liability, personal injury, transportation, and/or catastrophic injury.This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys with 8+ years of litigation experience, to grow in their careers with exposure to a wide variety of prominent national clients and by taking on substantial litigation responsibilities. Working directly with in-house counsel, the attorney in this role will have the exciting opportunity to interact directly with sophisticated clients that we represent, as well as with teams of our own talented, experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school


• Admitted to practice in the state of Virginia


• 8+ years of defense litigation experience


• Experience in insurance defense, general liability, trucking and transportation, or complex litigation preferred.


• Background with emerging e-commerce / gig economy legal issues preferred, but not required.


• Drafting discovery and pretrial motions a must.


• Superior analytical skills


• Strong written and oral communication skills


• Sophisticated technical skills necessary


• Experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trial experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from beginning to end


• Work closely and collaborate with other attorneys and partners


• Regular trial preparation, investigation, court appearances, mediations and depositions


• Communicate with clients and provide reports
