Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Sr. Accountant – General Ledger in its Financial Management Services Department’s Accounting Division. This advanced role requires substantial responsibility and offers a benefits package including health, pension, and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities include complex financial analysis, GL monitoring, journaling and audits support. A bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of accounting experience are required; CPA preferred

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible accounting experience.
Possession of CPA credentials or Certified Public Finance Officer credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform complex financial analysis and account reconciliations.
Monitor general ledger accounts.
Review/approve/post journal entries, perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
Provide assistance during the City’s independent financial and single audits.
Support internal/external customers and City departments to resolve Accounting issues.
