Job summary

TabaBank seeks an experienced General Counsel to lead the Bank's legal function and serve as principal advisor to the Board and executive team. The role covers banking regulation, governance, and strategic initiatives within the TabaHoldings structure.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience with OCC/federal regulators, sponsor-bank relationships, and complex commercial contracts, with a proven ability to counsel senior leadership in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including advising banks or regulated financial institutions.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. banking laws and regulatory requirements.
• Experience working with federal banking regulators.
• Demonstrated experience advising senior executives and Boards.
• Strong commercial‑contracting and transactional experience.
• Ability to provide practical legal advice in a rapidly evolving business environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Bank and Board on banking laws, regulations, and supervisory requirements.
• Support corporate governance and Board administration.
• Oversee intercompany and shared-services governance within the Bank holding structure.
• Draft, review, and negotiate material contracts and service agreements.
• Advise on regulatory, data privacy, and risk management matters.
• Coordinate with regulators (OCC, Fed, FDIC) and risk teams as needed.
• Provide support for new banking products, deposits, and payment services.
• Maintain corporate records and support regulatory submissions.
