TD Bank is seeking a Senior Counsel to provide oversight, legal advice and support to management across Corporate Group Functions and Business Units. The role requires handling high-stakes legal issues, drafting memos and contracts, and anticipating legal risks.

As a product of the Corporate Products and Services Legal Team, you will partner with senior leaders, product managers, and risk functions to enable business strategies while ensuring regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required
• J.D. from an Accredited Law School required
• 10+ Years of related experience
• Strong knowledge of banking/financial services law
• Integrity and high moral standards
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Strong legal and analytical skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to exercise sound judgment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsabilidades

• Manage paralegal and administrative staff; assign responsibilities and evaluate results.
• Provide leadership, coaching, counseling and guidance to staff.
• Supervise external counsel providing advice or other legal services.
• Work with General Counsel and department attorneys on legal issues.
• Advise lines of business on best practices to minimize legal and litigation risk.
• Assist in managing departmental budget for internal and external spend.
• Identify client needs and provide pragmatic legal opinions.
• Participate in special projects and cross-practice teams as required.
