Job summary

Berkley Edge is seeking a Senior Underwriter – General Casualty to manage an individual book, drive revenue growth, and improve profitability for the General Casualty line. You will analyze complex risks, price strategically, and collaborate with brokers to expand market share.

The role requires deep underwriting expertise, familiarity with Excess & Surplus Lines, and the ability to guide junior staff while advancing product and pricing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ general casualty underwriting experience.
• Strong experience in Excess & Surplus Lines and Wholesale Brokerage Distribution.
• Experience writing primary commercial general liability (required).
• Professional designations are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage an individual book of General Casualty, driving revenue growth.
• Oversee applications, renewals, repricing, restrictions, and cancellations.
• Partner with brokers to resolve service issues and grow market share.
• Provide pricing guidance and risk assessment across territories.
• Train and support underwriting staff; share knowledge and best practices.
