Job summary

Oliver James Group is seeking a Senior General Casualty Underwriter to join its expanding team in Richmond, VA. You will underwrite new and renewal General Casualty business, manage an assigned book and work closely with wholesale brokers to grow a profitable portfolio.

The role offers ownership of your portfolio, strong collaboration with Actuarial, Claims, Reinsurance and Legal teams, and a path to contribute to underwriting strategy within a growing specialty carrier.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in Property & Casualty underwriting with General Casualty focus.
• Experience managing an assigned book and operating within delegated authority.
• Experience working with wholesale brokers.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal General Casualty business, determining risk quality, pricing, terms and conditions.
• Manage an assigned portfolio in line with underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
• Develop relationships with wholesale brokers and handle underwriting inquiries.
