Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Principal AI Platform Engineer to lead the design, development, and enterprise adoption of Generative AI capabilities within a secure governance framework. This senior role champions best practices, mentors engineers, and shapes AI platform architecture across the organization.

You will drive RAG implementations, multi-step LLM workflows, API and service layers, and ensure responsible AI, security, and compliance within the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field; 7+ years in systems analysis or app development.
• Associate degree with 9+ years of relevant experience acceptable.
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language and advanced in another.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support enterprise-scale GenAI solutions and tools.
• Lead architecture for RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector stores, and search capabilities.
• Define and enforce architecture standards, governance, and best practices across teams.
