Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks a Lead Engineer (Generative AI) to architect, develop, and operationalize enterprise GenAI solutions.

You will lead GenAI architecture across LLMs, RAG, and agentic AI, collaborating with product, security, and risk teams to deliver secure, scalable AI capabilities. Responsibilities include end-to-end GenAI solution engineering, GenAIOps, and cloud deployment on Azure/AWS, with emphasis on availability, cost efficiency, and high performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or AI/ML solutions.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with GenAI technologies, including LLMs and vector databases.
• Strong knowledge of agentic AI concepts and frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph).
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalable architecture patterns.
• Proficiency in Python and microservices-based development.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• GenAI Solution Engineering: design, develop, and deploy GenAI solutions using LangChain, LangGraph, AWS Bedrock, and Foundry Agent Service.
• GenAIOps & Lifecycle Management: implement GenAIOps, ensure scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency; establish logging and feedback for production AI systems.
• Cloud, Platform & Scalability Engineering: architect and deploy GenAI apps across Azure and AWS; design distributed, high-throughput systems; ensure security.
• Software Engineering & Architecture: build scalable apps with Python and microservices; enforce secure coding and CI/CD pipelines.
• Technical Leadership & Influence: provide architectural leadership, mentor senior engineers, translate business requirements into scalable solutions; partner with product, risk, security.
