Job summary

Citi is seeking a hands-on GenAI expert to drive AI development, governance, and transformation across enterprise functions in New York. You will architect, build, and validate GenAI solutions, collaborating with engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders in Operations, Marketing, Products, Technology, Model Risk, Fair Lending, and Legal.

The role emphasizes owning the AI solution lifecycle, applying advanced GenAI/LLM engineering, and delivering measurable improvements in efficiency,

Qualifications

• 6+ years in AI/ML, data science, or applied engineering roles within financial services or a similarly regulated industry
• Hands-on experience building and deploying Generative AI/LLM solutions in production
• Experience supporting model risk management, regulatory remediation, and governance processes
• Experience with AI/ML model lifecycles: tuning, evaluation, upgrades
• Knowledge of banking data domains (marketing, customer management, call center ops, collections, etc.)
• Familiarity with credit card economics, customer behavior, and product strategy related to data/AI
• Exposure to Model Risk Management, Fair Lending, and Compliance in regulated institutions

Responsibilities

• Design and build GenAI-powered automation across front, mid, and back office banking operations.
• Build enterprise-foundational GenAI capabilities, including fine-tuning pipelines and semantic layers.
• Own AI solution lifecycle from prototyping to production for high-priority use cases.
• Prototype and evolve AI-enhanced modeling techniques to improve speed and accuracy.
• Provide hands-on technical support across a GenAI model portfolio and governance documentation.
• Build firm-wide GenAI infrastructure including guardrails and regulatory testing frameworks.
• Track and report model performance, latency, accuracy, and guardrail effectiveness.
