Job summary

Belva is seeking a hands-on Senior Gen AI Engineer to join our growing AI team. As an early team member in a fast-paced startup, you will build production-grade AI applications that integrate cutting-edge GenAI capabilities.

You will collaborate with engineers to design, implement, and iterate AI-powered systems, applying deep GenAI knowledge and strong software engineering skills to solve real-world problems with observable, testable solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in CS (or equivalent) or 10+ years in software/AI.
• 7+ years of software development experience.
• 2+ years working with Generative AI systems.
• Understanding strengths/weaknesses of foundational models.
• Proficiency in Python and AI/ML libraries.
• Experience on prompt engineering and structured prompts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to build AI-powered systems.
• Develop production-grade GenAI applications and iterate on them.
• Design architectures that are well-architected, testable, and observable.
• Lead evaluation, monitoring, and A/B testing of LLM models.
• Create agentic workflows and manage HITL considerations.
• Develop chat-based UX features and context-engineering practices.
• Ensure robust observability and data quality for model outputs.
