Allison Transmission is seeking a Senior Gear Systems Engineer to lead advanced gear design for Off-Highway applications. You will interpret customer specs to craft complete gearbox systems, size hardware, and support manufacturing across sourcing, launch, and production.

The role requires expertise in gear design software, DFMEA/APQP/PPAP, and mentoring junior engineers, with travel up to 10% domestically and internationally as needed.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field; graduate degree preferred but not required.
• 1+ years of experience in bevel and/or cylindrical gear powertrain engineering in automotive, commercial vehicle, or off-highway industries.
• 1+ years of experience in gear design software and/or gear manufacturing and inspection.

Responsabilidades

• Interpret customer specifications to design complete gearbox systems including bevel and cylindrical gears, shafts and splines.
• Size and select hardware items such as bearings, seals, o-rings, bolts and discs for gear systems.
• Provide technical support to purchasing, manufacturing, and other engineering teams during sourcing, development, launch and production.
• Author/review DFMEAs and DVP&Rs; participate in APQP and PPAP processes.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians; perform benchmarking and VAVE cost savings projects.
