Job summary

ITnova seeks an Expert Systems Architect to design and deliver secure, scalable GCP solutions for a U.S. Department of Labor program. You will lead architecture, IaC, CI/CD, and security controls across teams, ensuring compliance with federal standards.

Role requires extensive GCP experience, strong leadership, and the ability to translate business needs into robust technical designs within a mission‑critical environment. Onsite in Albany, NY, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in CS/IT/Engineering.
• Equivalent education/experience may be considered per contract.
• 7+ years in systems or cloud architecture roles.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex enterprise solutions.
• Ability to lead large teams and translate requirements into designs.
• Strong cloud architecture knowledge including scalability, security, performance and cost optimization.
• Experience translating business needs into architectural solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure GCP solutions based on client needs.
• Provide technical leadership to development and operations teams.
• Oversee GCP implementation including IaC and CI/CD.
• Implement IAM, network security, encryption and logging.
• Monitor performance, optimize resource usage and costs.
• Troubleshoot complex GCP and integration issues.
• Create and maintain architecture, design, and disaster recovery docs.
