Job summary

SpaceX in Starbase, TX seeks a Sr. Sourcing Specialist for gas turbine power sourcing to support production, test and launch programs. You will develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier performance, and pursue cost savings while ensuring ITAR and quality compliance.

Key duties include complex contract negotiations, cross-functional collaboration, and optimizing total cost of ownership for capital equipment and services essential to rocket programs.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in engineering, supply chain, purchasing, contract negotiation, or related fields.
• Experience with gas turbine procurement, long-lead capital equipment, and service agreements (LTSA, O&M).
• Ability to read technical drawings, P&IDs, specifications and align sourcing with engineering intent.
• Proven track record leading cross-functional teams and delivering cost savings.

Responsibilities

• Create sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet cost targets.
• Develop stakeholder relationships to optimize value and drive continuous improvement.
• Present effectively to decision makers on launch-critical events.
• Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance to meet KPIs and SLAs.
• Identify and drive cost reduction projects and COI across categories.
• Lead procurement activities for capital projects including RFPs, bid evaluations, and FAT/SAT.
