Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead the commissioning of gas turbine power plant control systems on-site. You will develop and execute a comprehensive commissioning plan, drawing on deep expertise with GE Mark VIe, Siemens T3000, and PLC/DCS programming to ensure safe startup and reliable operation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in programming and commissioning of control systems in power plants.
• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL).
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls preferred).
• PE Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop a detailed commissioning plan for gas turbine control systems from initial testing to site acceptance.
• Lead on-site commissioning activities including loop checks, functional tests, and performance validation.
• Act as SME for gas turbine control systems (e.g., GE Mark VIe, Siemens T3000) and plant control logic.
• Collaborate with EPC contractors, equipment vendors, and plant operations for seamless integration and turnover.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues during commissioning and startup.
• Document testing procedures, results, and progress with precision for standards adherence.
• Ensure control systems and commissioning activities comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Provide technical leadership and support to the project team and interface with customer.
