Job summary

Atmos Energy Corporation is seeking a project design and engineering professional to develop conceptual designs, cost estimates and scopes for capital and O&M projects in the natural gas distribution division. You will coordinate with project sponsors, review designs from external firms, manage right-of-way processes and ensure timely construction documentation and regulatory compliance.

This on-site role requires a high school diploma with 2 years in project management or related utility

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years’ project management experience in natural gas, utilities, or related fields.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• An associate’s degree in engineering, science, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong communication and numerical analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project designs and estimates for expansion of distribution facilities.
• Develop conceptual designs, cost estimates and scopes for capital, O&M, and reimbursable projects.
• Evaluate facility adequacy to ensure safe, economical design within budget.
• Close projects and post regulatory compliance and financial data.
• Design for transmission and distribution facilities, regulation and metering.
• Review designs from outside engineering firms for compliance.
• Coordinate right-of-way and permit processes within budget and schedule.
• Oversee construction progression and posting of documents.
• Communicate with customers and work groups to meet expectations.
• Incorporate safety in design and operations.
• Manage assigned projects ensuring reliability and volume.
• Represent the group in presentations to management.
