Job summary

Light & Wonder, Inc. in Reno, NV develops cutting-edge gaming math models for North America markets. As a Mathematician, you will design, proof, and optimize math models for Class III and related gaming segments, collaborating with designers, engineers, and other mathematicians.

You will code and test game simulations in an existing framework, mentor junior mathematicians, and ensure accurate implementation of models within tight schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics or CS required.
• 5+ years of experience in the mathematics of gaming.
• 3+ years of experience with C++, C#, Python.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Visual Studio.
• Expert knowledge of probability.

Responsibilities

• Work with game designers and mathematicians to develop proof of concept and feasible math models.
• Develop and generate math models that demonstrate gaming probabilities and mathematical return of games via theoretical calculation and/or simulation.
• Participate and contribute in the game design and invention process.
• Mentor junior level Mathematicians.
• Work with engineers to ensure correct implementation of math models.
• Deliver high quality work as scheduled in accordance with the game design and product requirements.
• Create computer simulation and analysis of existing and new math models.
• Maintain an understanding of competitive products and technology.
