Job summary

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Senior Gameplay Engineer to join The Witcher 4 team in Warsaw. You will design, implement, optimize, and maintain core gameplay systems, collaborating with designers, programmers, and specialists to build robust gameplay experiences.

The role offers hybrid work in our Warsaw hub with relocation support. You will own key features, contribute to performance and scalability, and mentor junior engineers while staying current with industry developments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional programming in the games industry.
• Experience shipping at least one AAA title.
• Proficient in C++ and Unreal Engine 5.
• Strong understanding of game engine architecture and multithreaded systems.
• Proficient in 3D math and linear algebra.
• Experience designing combat, animation, locomotion, or physics systems.
• Strong debugging skills and ownership mindset.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, optimize, document, and maintain core gameplay systems.
• Take ownership of key gameplay features for scalability and performance.
• Develop tools and debugging utilities for gameplay development.
• Collaborate with designers and specialists to create engaging gameplay mechanics.
• Define technical scope, priorities, and delivery plans with teams.
• Debug, profile, and resolve large-scale gameplay issues.
• Conduct code reviews and maintain clean, modular code.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; share knowledge.
