Job summary
CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Tech QA Lead for the Polaris project (The Witcher 4) to guide a technical QA team, translate the Polaris QA strategy into actionable plans, and ensure high-quality milestones. The role focuses on improving QA workflows, reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
The position is based in Warsaw with office-first alignment, and relocation is required. You will manage testing across engine, tools, performance, and technical feature validation, while
Qualifications
- 5+ years leading or managing Tech QA teams.
- 5+ years direct performance management and career development experience.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, bug workflows, defect management, test planning, coverage and reporting.
- Experience with Unreal Engine or in-house engine and editor tools.
- Strong understanding of game development lifecycles and testing strategies for integration, stress, performance, stability, tools, engine and platform validation.
- Experience with QA metrics, KPIs and bug trends.
- Experience with performance analysis, profiling tools, crash analysis, memory investigations, platform testing or console environments.
- Experience with Unreal insights, engine profiling, crash debugging.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management; ability to present technical quality status and risks clearly.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, test plans, dashboards, or quality summaries.
- Experience improving QA workflows, reporting models, dashboards and metrics.
- Experience working with external QA vendors, distributed QA teams or cross-location teams.
- Ownership, accountability and ability to work under pressure.
- Alignment with RED values and leadership examples.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Tech QA team, fostering accountability and growth.
- Adapt and implement Polaris QA strategy into practical testing approaches and priorities.
- Own testing execution and milestone verification to meet quality standards.
- Monitor quality metrics, KPIs, and bug trends to identify risks and mitigation plans.
- Coordinate with development, production and external QA vendors on dependencies.
- Maintain data-informed reporting on quality status, blockers and readiness.
- Drive QA workflow and tool optimization across processes and documentation.
- Provide hands-on support for complex technical investigations and debugging.
