Job summary

General Motors Africa & Middle East is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Program Manager to ensure parts are available by the MRD for Assembly Plant Manufacturing Validation Build events and for all purchased part requirements in a hybrid working environment.

You will lead cross-functional teams, review plans, confirm supplier orders, communicate requirements to suppliers, and produce shortage reports and status updates for MRD and PQRR meetings within GM's Global Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, logistics or purchasing.
• Ability to lead and facilitate workgroups and meetings.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.

Job Description The Role

Work cross-functionally to ensure parts are available by the Material Required Date (MRD) for all Assembly Plant Manufacturing Validation Build events and purchased part requirements.

What You'll Do

• Develop and review program-specific plans covering Assembly Plant activities.
• Confirm supplier orders and material requirements are issued.
• Communicate program requirements to suppliers.
• Notify Purchasing of parts requiring contracts, prioritized by build event.
• Identify suppliers that are not EDI certified, provide details to OpenText, and send supplier communications.
• Create shortage reports to identify material exceptions and follow up with suppliers and program teams.
• Facilitate communication across functional stakeholders.
• Support resolution of Assembly Plant material issues.
• Publish Material Availability Status Reports for Assembly Plants.
• Partner with the Material Launch Manager to track MRD part status for PQRR meetings and communicate updates within Global Supply Chain (GSC).

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, purchasing or industrial (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)
• Ability to lead and facilitate workgroups and meetings.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Confidence presenting to program teams and leading cross-functional discussions
• Proactive decision-making with appropriate escalation when needed
• Independent judgment and a self-starter mindset.
• Strong sense of urgency
• Ability to manage pressure tactfully while handling multiple priorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft-based software.
• Demonstrated leadership behaviors
• Advanced Excel skills

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management.
• Manufacturing experience
• Engineering Change Management (ECM)

• Experience with Launch, Plant, or Supplier Recovery is a plus
