Job summary

Responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day operational supply chain execution to ensure material availability for automotive manufacturing and service parts fulfillment.
• Lead rapid issue identification, containment, and resolution for disruptions in supply, capacity, logistics, and suppliers.
• Lead engineering change management; ensure material availability related to launch excellence.
• Partner cross‑functionally with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to drive timely decisions and trade‑offs.
• Monitor core operational KPIs (material availability, supplier performance, inventory health, premium freight, schedule adherence).
• Identify and deploy innovative solutions that reduce manual work and strengthen operational resilience.
• Translate emerging technologies and analytics into practical, scalable operational use cases.
• Drive standardization and simplification through improved tools, workflows, and playbooks.

The Role

Lead operational supply chain execution from supplier to manufacturing site while building the next‑generation capabilities required for a more resilient, data‑driven, and agile supply chain. This role ensures uninterrupted material flow, vehicle and service parts availability, and disciplined response to daily disruptions—while simultaneously elevating team capability through innovation, digital adoption, and continuous upskilling.

You will manage and develop a high‑performing team responsible for translating demand into executable supply plans, stabilizing operations, and modernizing supply chain execution across suppliers, plants, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders. There will be strong emphasis on Change Management, transforming supply planning to synchronize planning systems where suppliers align demand, production and capacity.

Role may include:

Operational Leadership & Execution

• Own day‑to‑day operational supply chain execution to ensure material availability for automotive manufacturing and service parts fulfillment

• Lead rapid issue identification, containment, and resolution for supply, capacity, logistics, and supplier disruptions

• Lead Engineering change management; future material availability related to launch excellence

• Partner cross‑functionally with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to drive timely decisions and trade‑offs

• Manage and elevate operational risks with clear visibility to impact, recovery plans, and customer exposure

• Monitor and improve core operational KPIs (material availability, supplier performance, inventory health, premium freight, schedule adherence)

• Assess supplier ship plans, capacity constraints, and recovery actions to protect production and customer commitments

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

• Lead the reimagination of operational supply chain processes, leveraging data, automation, and digital tools to improve speed, visibility, and execution discipline

• Within Global Supply Chain’s Demand and Supply Planning team, you will help drive innovation in the space between supply planning and supply operations to help GSC become more predictive and less reactive

• Identify and deploy innovative solutions that reduce manual work, improve decision quality, and strengthen operational resilience

• Translate emerging technologies and analytics into practical, scalable operational use cases

• Drive standardization and simplification through improved tools, workflows, and operational playbooks

• Champion a culture of continuous improvement and problem‑solving rigor, grounded in real‑world execution

Talent Development & Upskilling:

• Build a future‑ready supply chain organization by actively developing team capability in analytics, digital tools, systems thinking, and operational decision‑making

• Establish clear expectations for skill progression, learning, and capability building across the team

• Coach leaders and individual contributors to operate effectively in high‑ambiguity, fast‑paced environments

• Foster a learning culture that encourages curiosity, experimentation, and adoption of new ways of working

• Lead performance management, succession planning, and talent development to ensure bench strength and long‑term organizational health

Leadership & Communication:

• Provide clear, concise communication to leadership during both crisis situations and routine operating reviews

• Influence without authority across global, cross‑functional stakeholders

• Operate with urgency, accountability, and decisiveness while balancing short‑term execution with long‑term capability building

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree

• 10+ years of experience across automotive supply chain, manufacturing operations, launch excellence, or service parts

• Proven experience leading teams (minimum 4–5 direct reports) in complex, high‑pressure operational environments

• Deep understanding of material flow, production scheduling, supplier management, and logistics operations

• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and capability transformation within an operational organization

• Strong operational judgment with the ability to make timely decisions with incomplete information

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint; experience translating data into action

• Executive‑level communicator able to summarize issues, actions, and risks succinctly

• Must be willing to travel 10- 40% domestic + international
