Qualifications

Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer per state requirements.
Five+ years of progressive funeral service experience with leadership or management responsibilities.
Associate degree or higher in Mortuary Science or equivalent.
Ability to lead teams, coach employees, and cultivate a positive workplace culture.
Strong understanding of funeral service laws, regulations, and ethics.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Proficiency with funeral home management software and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop Funeral Directors, Embalmers, Funeral Assistants, and support staff.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service.
Recruit, coach, evaluate, and retain top talent; create staff schedules for excellence.
Meet with families to guide them through funeral, cremation, and memorial planning.
Explain service options, merchandise, pricing, and personalization opportunities.
Oversee all aspects of funeral home operations and coordinate with service partners.
Ensure services are executed with precision, dignity, and attention to detail.
Maintain facility, vehicles, equipment, and preparation areas to high standards.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws; manage death certificates and documentation.
Maintain accurate records while protecting confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
Manage financial performance, budgeting, expenses, and revenue growth; monitor KPIs.
Support business development and community outreach to grow market presence.
