Job summary

Carriage Services is hiring a Funeral Director/Embalmer in Burlington, NC. This full-time role offers compensation of $25–$30 per hour, based on experience, with total pay up to about $65k per year after on-call stipends and overtime.

The position requires at least 5 years of experience and a valid Funeral Director/Embalmer license, plus a valid driver's license. You will meet with families, coordinate memorial services, and manage documentation and client files with a team of professionals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Funeral Director/Embalmer.
• Valid Funeral Director/Embalmer License and/or ability to obtain licenses or endorsement in the state of operation.

Responsibilities

• Meets with client families to listen and arrange personalized memorial services.
• Ensures timely and appropriate document filing in accordance with laws.
• Conducts and attends services regularly.
• Maintains open and up-to-date client files and communicates effectively.
• Understands and implements company training.
• Works on-call/first call with embalming skills at care center locations.
• Uses proprietary software for merchandise options, contracts, and forms.
• Leads staff to maintain high professionalism and service levels.
• Participates in events with community groups.
