Job summary

Small Biz Heroes in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Funding Manager to take qualified business funding opportunities from discovery through funding. You will structure deals and close funding with MCA, working capital, term loans, lines of credit, and equipment financing.

You will collaborate with lenders and our sales/operations teams to move deals through underwriting and approvals, while maintaining an accurate pipeline in Salesforce.

Qualifications

• 2+ years MCA/alternative finance experience required.
• Proven track record of closing business funding transactions.
• Understanding of underwriting, approvals, and funding processes.

Responsibilities

• Take qualified opportunities from discovery through funding.
• Understand business owners' needs and identify funding solutions (MCA, working capital, term loan, LOC, equipment financing).
• Work with lenders to obtain approvals and evaluate terms.
• Present funding options, navigate objections, and close funded deals.
• Guide clients through underwriting, documentation, and funding.
• Maintain accurate pipeline in Salesforce with sales/ops teams.

What You Will Do

As a Funding Manager, you'll take qualified business funding opportunities from discovery through funding.

You'll:

• Take qualified opportunities generated by our Business Funding Associates, referral partners, and marketing channels.
• Understand each business owner's needs and identify appropriate MCA, working capital, term loan, line of credit, equipment financing, and other funding solutions.
• Work with lenders and funding partners to obtain and evaluate approvals.
• Present funding options, navigate objections, negotiate when appropriate, and close funded deals.
• Guide clients through underwriting, documentation, and funding.
• Collaborate with our sales and operations teams to keep deals moving while managing an accurate pipeline in Salesforce.

You’ll Thrive Here If You…

• Have 2+ years of proven experience in Merchant Cash Advance (MCA), alternative business finance, or small business lending.
• Have a demonstrated track record of closing business funding transactions.
• Understand underwriting, deal structure, lender relationships, approvals, and the funding process.
• Can confidently discuss rates, terms, payment structures, and financing options with business owners.
• Know how to overcome objections, earn trust, and move deals forward.
• Take ownership of your pipeline, follow-up, and results in a fast-moving sales environment.
• Are competitive, coachable, and excited to help build a growing company.

This is not an entry-level position. Alternative finance/MCA experience is required.
