Job summary

Small Biz Heroes is seeking an experienced Funding Manager in Charlotte, NC to take qualified business funding opportunities from discovery through funding. You will structure deals, build trust with business owners, and close funding using MCA, working capital, and other options.

You will work closely with our VP of Sales and CEO to scale the sales organization while leveraging a warm pipeline and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of proven experience in Merchant Cash Advance (MCA), alternative business finance, or small business lending.
• Track record of closing funding transactions.
• Ability to read deals, understand owner needs, and navigate underwriting and approvals.

Responsibilities

• Take qualified opportunities from discovery through funding.
• Identify appropriate MCA, working capital, term loan, line of credit, equipment financing, and other funding solutions.
• Collaborate with lenders and funding partners to obtain and evaluate approvals.
• Present funding options, navigate objections, negotiate when appropriate, and close funded deals.
• Guide clients through underwriting, documentation, and funding.
• Coordinate with sales and operations to maintain an accurate pipeline in Salesforce.

What You Will Do

As a Funding Manager, you'll take qualified business funding opportunities from discovery through funding.

You'll:

• Take qualified opportunities generated by our Business Funding Associates, referral partners, and marketing channels.
• Understand each business owner's needs and identify appropriate MCA, working capital, term loan, line of credit, equipment financing, and other funding solutions.
• Work with lenders and funding partners to obtain and evaluate approvals.
• Present funding options, navigate objections, negotiate when appropriate, and close funded deals.
• Guide clients through underwriting, documentation, and funding.
• Collaborate with our sales and operations teams to keep deals moving while managing an accurate pipeline in Salesforce.

You’ll Thrive Here If You…

• Have 2+ years of proven experience in Merchant Cash Advance (MCA), alternative business finance, or small business lending.
• Have a demonstrated track record of closing business funding transactions.
• Understand underwriting, deal structure, lender relationships, approvals, and the funding process.
• Can confidently discuss rates, terms, payment structures, and financing options with business owners.
• Know how to overcome objections, earn trust, and move deals forward.
• Take ownership of your pipeline, follow-up, and results in a fast-moving sales environment.
• Are competitive, coachable, and excited to help build a growing company.

This is not an entry-level position. Alternative finance/MCA experience is required.
