Job summary

AngelList’s Belltower Funds division is seeking a Fund Operations Senior Associate on the Distributions Team. You will execute distributions across a portfolio of private investment funds, ensuring accuracy, controls, and timely payments.

You’ll collaborate with Fund Accounting, Services, Legal/Compliance, and Tax teams and report to the Distributions Team Manager. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in private equity or venture funds, strong Excel skills, and a detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of private equity, venture capital, private funds, fund administration, or investment operations experience.
• Experience supporting middle- or back-office operations for private investment funds.
• Understanding of the operational lifecycle of private equity, venture capital, or similar closed-end vehicles.
• Experience with high-volume, detail-oriented processes where accuracy and deadlines matter.

Responsibilities

• Review distribution requests and supporting docs for accuracy before payments.
• Coordinate cash distribution and wire workflows, including payment instructions and approvals.
• Review investor and fund data for completeness and consistency across systems.
• Investigate discrepancies and escalate material issues with proper documentation.
• Maintain audit trails for distribution calculations, approvals, and payments.
• Identify recurring issues and drive process improvements to speed and accuracy.
• Help develop and maintain standard operating procedures and controls.
• Evaluate workflows with an automation-first mindset and explore tech/AI opportunities.
