Job summary

Oliver James Group seeks a Senior Fund Finance Associate to support private equity fund finance activities in our downtown Chicago office. The role focuses on due diligence, financial analysis, and reporting to aid investment decisions.

Ideal candidates have a background in accounting/finance, exposure to fund audits or alternative investments, and professional credentials such as CPA/CFA. This is a hybrid role with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 2–5 years experience in public accounting (fund audit) or financial services is preferred.
• Exposure to alternative investments (Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Financial Services) is a plus.
• CPA or CFA credentials (or pursuing) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence on fund managers and support investment recommendations.
• Analyze audited financial statements and operational processes.
• Prepare research reports, Investment Committee memos, and meeting documentation.
• Review legal and regulatory documents (e.g., offering memorandums, Form ADVs).
• Evaluate back-office operations, controls, and pricing procedures.
• Track and organize data to support team efficiency.
• Assist with manager meetings, onsite visits, and follow-up reporting.
