Wellington Management Co in Needham is seeking aSenior Fund Accountant to join our Fund Control & Operations team. The role spans fund accounting, valuation, and operational controls across mutual funds and other investment products.

You will partner with technology, fund administrators, custodians, and auditors to maintain accuracy, governance, and scalable processes. The role supports a hybrid schedule and a comprehensive benefits package.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, information systems, or related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in fund accounting, fund administration, or fund operations.
• Baseline knowledge of mutual funds, collective investment trusts, hedge funds, interval funds, and alternative investments.
• Understanding of GAAP and fund accounting principles.
• Baseline understanding of accounting for fixed income and common stock.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience in a collaborative, team-based, results-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Progress toward MBA, CFA, is a plus.

Mansioni

• Oversee daily fund accounting activities conducted by third-party administrators.
• Review trial balances, expense accruals, receivables, payables, security positions, and capital activity.
• Review pricing, fair value determinations, stale prices, and valuation-related risks.
• Analyze complex securities, derivatives, structured products, alternative investments, and privates.
• Prepare valuation support materials and participate in valuation governance and oversight processes.
• Monitor portfolio-level valuation trends and escalate concerns when appropriate.
• Oversee cash, position, valuation, and market value reconciliations.
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools to enhance transparency and monitoring capabilities.
• Support internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.
