Job summary

Wellington Management is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to ensure accuracy and control of fund accounting, valuation, performance, and operations across mutual funds and other investment products. This role partners with technology, custodians, and auditors to deliver scalable, well-controlled processes.

You will lead complex issues, drive automation, and collaborate with senior leaders to strengthen controls and operational efficiency within a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, economics, information systems, or related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in fund accounting, fund administration, or fund operations.
• Baseline knowledge of mutual funds, collective investment trusts, hedge funds, interval funds, and alternative investments.
• Understanding of GAAP and fund accounting principles.
• Baseline understanding of accounting for fixed income and common stock.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience in a collaborative, team-based, results-oriented environment.
• Progress toward MBA, CFA, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fund accounting activities conducted by third-party administrators.
• Review trial balances, expense accruals, receivables, payables, security positions, and capital activity.
• Investigate and resolve accounting exceptions with limited supervision.
• Serve as an escalation point for accounting and operation matters applying specialized expertise.
• Review pricing exceptions, fair value determinations, stale prices, and valuation-related risks.
• Analyze complex securities, derivatives, structured products, alternative investments, and privates.
• Prepare valuation support materials and participate in valuation governance and oversight processes.
• Monitor portfolio-level valuation trends, identify emerging risks, and elevate concerns when appropriate.
• Review and validate fund and share class performance returns.
