Job summary

Artisan Partners Limited is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to support complex accounting and fee mechanics for private funds, focus on technical analysis and validation of fund economics. Role covers alternatives including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and private assets, with a base salary range of $125,000-$180,000.

The position emphasizes accuracy, GAAP expertise, and collaboration with external auditors and fund administrators. A discretionary bonus may accompany base compensation.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• In-house investment management experience required.
• 7–10 years of experience with alternative investment products.
• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting across equities, debt, derivatives and private equity investments.
• Self-starter; able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Advanced Excel skills: complex modeling, scenario analysis and reconciliations.
• Data analytics and Tableau or similar tools beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review NAV calculations, investor allocations and performance calculations.
• Model and validate management, incentive fees and carried interest calculations, including hurdles and catch-ups.
• Interpret fund documents (LPA, PPM) and apply complex concepts and calculations.
• Lead preparation and technical review of audited financial statements; liaise with external auditors.
• Design and improve fund accounting models, controls and workflows for hedge funds and PE structures.
• Oversee interactions with external service providers, including fund administrator and auditors.
• Review regulatory reporting (Form PF, Form PQR) and tie data to supporting ledgers.
