Job summary

Nuveen seeks a Senior Investment Accountant to ensure GAAP-based investment accounting policies are applied across fund products and separate accounts. The role collaborates with asset management, operations, and other accountants to prepare financial reports for clients and senior management.

Under minimal supervision, you will review accounting activity, perform performance calculations, and support annual audits, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and optimize reporting processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of GAAP accounting experience
• Experience with fund accounting and reporting, including GAAP financial statements, partner allocations, and performance calculations
• Knowledge of investment operations, including middle and back office
• Experience interacting with internal and external auditors
• Able to identify areas of improvement and implement enhancements

Responsibilities

• Prepares timely and accurate GAAP work papers and supporting schedules for fund products and separately managed accounts
• Prepares investor reporting, including financial statements and capital statements
• Monitors product budgets and prepares accruals and payment requests
• Monitors product cash flows and capital needs; prepares capital calls, distributions, and fund rebalancing
• Calculates performance returns and fees payable
• Supports the annual audit process and ad hoc inquiries
• Collaborates with fund administrators and custodians to support accounting and reporting
• Provides guidance to junior Investment Accountants on advanced issues
