As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will be key in reporting the NAV of Serengeti’s hedge and private equity funds to investors, handling investor inquiries and performance reporting, responding to the auditors in the annual fund audits and managing the audit process, liaising with other areas of the firm including Middle Office, Investor Relations, Compliance and Legal as it relates to the funds, reviewing and managing the fund tax process and overseeing the fund administrator, Citco. This role offers hands-on exposure to the post initial investment lifecycle, from investment closing to investment analysis/monitoring/reporting to investment exit. This role will also have a component of Special Projects and Ad-Hoc Reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Investor Reporting and Fund Accounting

• Responsible for review of the monthly (hedge fund) and quarterly (private equity fund) NAVs for each of the Serengeti funds (~40+ individual entities), including review of PnL (including assessments for non-accrual status and character of PnL), deferred and current tax accruals, expense accruals and allocations and investor allocations and related partner capital statements
• Review capital calls and distributions and set up wires to fund the GP capital calls. Evaluate hold-backs for expenses for distributions based on cash projections
• Perform expense allocations for fund expenses and move fund cash to satisfy their expenses
• Review of management fees and incentive fees/allocations for funds and SMAs and wire amounts to the Manager
• Responsible for updating the Fund Track Record for Quarterly Letters and other distributions
• Handle various investor inquiries and reporting for investors and the funds, including estimated returns for certain investors

Audit, Administration, Tax and Other Oversight

• Oversee the relationship and day to day interactions with key service providers including Fund Administrator, Auditor and Tax provider including proactively managing the calendar of deliverables
• Review of tax estimates to investors, tax return and final K-1s to investors
• Participate in Cayman Fund Board of Directors Meetings and respond to any needs of the Directors and Cayman counsel related to the funds including FATCA filings and other ad hoc or periodic requests

Other

• Liaise with various with other areas of the firm including Middle Office, Investor Relations, Compliance and Legal. The tasks in this area may include detailed review of Form ADV and Form PF, review of deal funding/documents for the accounting, providing investor and fund returns and other data for performance.
• Own incoming ad-hoc requests that usually relate to investor and fund returns among other areas to the satisfaction of the end user
• Action recommendations for streamlining operations, documentation and reporting for scalability and other improvements

Who You Are

• 3-5 years of public accounting experience related to audits of funds, preferably at a Big 4 firm
• A highly analytical thinker with strong financial analysis and organizational skills.
• Able to synthesize financial and non-financial data into clear, actionable investment insights.
• A proactive, detail-oriented and high performance professional with strong communication, documentation and presentation abilities.
• You enjoy building authentic working relationships with team members and external stakeholders to work collaboratively.
• You are able to work independently to some extent and demonstrate a positive and solution-oriented demeanor in the face of complexity.
• Passionate about working in a fast paced environment that is complex and requires attention to detail. While this role will give you high agency to determine how to complete the workload, it will also require initiative and also an owner and self-starter mentality in the role of improving and streamlining operations for scale through a variety of special projects.
