Job summary

Accenture Federal Services seeks a seasoned Functional Tester to join our product team in Washington, DC. This role plans, executes, and documents functional, regression, and smoke tests for a modern services-based application, with a focus on requirements traceability and high-quality feature delivery.

Candidates should have 5+ years of testing, experience with API testing and Swagger/OpenAPI, Agile delivery, and the ability to translate acceptance criteria into repeatable test cases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of testing experience.
• Experience performing functional, regression, and smoke testing.
• Familiarity with API testing, Swagger/OpenAPI, and basic automated testing concepts.
• Understanding of Agile delivery and iterative testing approaches.
• Ability to translate acceptance criteria and requirements into clean, repeatable test cases.
• Active TS clearance required.
• Must be willing to work onsite in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document functional, regression, and smoke tests.
• Create and maintain test cases, data, and results in Jira or similar tools.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases.
• Support API testing tools and Swagger/OpenAPI validation where possible.
• Provide feedback to developers and product staff on system behavior and risk areas.
• Ensure 508 accessibility compliance in testing when applicable.
• Contribute to backlog refinement and requirement clarification sessions.
