Syms Strategic Group, LLC seeks a Senior Functional Analyst - II for a remote role supporting Veterans Affairs. You will lead the capture and documentation of requirements for software development teams, collaborate with IT and leadership, and manage requirements in ALM tools like JIRA within SAFe.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of professional experience in software development and Agile environments, federal government familiarity, strong communication, and a Master’s degree in Engineering.

Qualifications

Strong background in software development with SAFe/Scaled Agile experience.
Excellent oral and written communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
Attention to detail, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience conducting independent research to support complex questions.
Advanced experience with MS Office, including Excel.
Strong analytical skills integrating data from multiple sources.
Expertise with JIRA tools and ALM for requirements management.

Responsibilities

Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
Collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership to document requirements in an ALM tool.
Manage requirements in an ALM tool and perform agile requirement management for a product team.
Analyze user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
Conduct user interviews, facilitate sessions, and develop process models and specs.
Gather and document business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
Elaborate user stories, decompose into backlog items, and define acceptance criteria.
Use JIRA for requirements management, testing, and defect management.
Coordinate with Systems Engineers to assess impact on technical solutions.
Write and deliver project documents to the client and manage risks and issues.
