Full Stack Engineer - AI-Powered Productivity Tool

• Location: Remote
• Company Stage of Funding: Series A ($29M raised)
• Office Type: Remote (9am-3pm PST overlap required)
• Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 + 0.5% equity minimum

Company Description

Our client is building the world's first AI Chief of Staff that augments human intelligence through a beautifully crafted notepad experience. Having just completed their 2.0 rebuild, they're revolutionizing how people capture, organize, and leverage information with AI assistance that feels magical. This venture-backed startup ($29M funding) is creating an entirely new category of productivity tools where AI actively collaborates with users in real-time.

What You Will Do

• Build real-time collaborative interfaces where AI can actively co-edit notes alongside users
• Design and implement offline-first experiences that sync seamlessly across devices
• Create asynchronous workflows that enable AI to work on your behalf even when you're offline
• Develop intuitive UI components that make complex AI capabilities accessible and delightful
• Rapidly prototype and iterate on new features based on user feedback
• Help define product roadmap and technical architecture as a key team member

Ideal Candidate Background

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated progression in high-growth startup environments
• Expert in TypeScript and React with experience building complex, high-performance web applications
• Experience with real-time collaboration systems (WebSockets, shared state management)
• Track record of building products from 0→1 (conception to launch)
• Proven experience integrating AI/LLMs into user-facing applications
• Strong product intuition with ability to make independent design decisions
• Self-starter who initiates and completes projects with minimal direction

Preferred

• Former founder or early engineer at a productivity tool company
• Experience with offline-first application development and sync strategies
• Worked at companies known for product craftsmanship
• Computer Science or related degree from a leading institution
• Experience with the tech stack: Django, Python, OpenAPI, Postgres, Redis, TipTap (Prosemirror) Editor with Yjs

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary range: $180k - $220k
