Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Senior Fullstack Software Development Engineer to join the Person team. You will design and build the systems that define who a person is on ID.me — the canonical record of their identity, the APIs that serve it, and the unified experience where members see and manage it.

As a Senior Engineer, you will help architect and scale the Person platform to ensure security, consistency, and performance across ID.me's ecosystem, partnering with design to build the Person experience and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of professional experience developing across the full stack in production environments.
• 7+ years of experience in at least one backend language (Python, Go, or Java) and with modern frameworks.
• 7+ years of professional experience developing frontend applications (Angular, React etc) in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Own the design and implementation of significant areas of the Person platform — the canonical record of a person's identity and the rules governing how it is created, merged, and split.
• Cross-Team Influence: Work closely with teams across ID.me to understand how person data is consumed and embedded in their systems to solve real needs.
• Systems Design & Architecture: Design and Implement end-to-end of complex, high-impact features across the full stack — from the person data model and services, through Backend for Frontend, APIs, to the unified person experience members interact with.
• Engineering Excellence: Set the standard for code quality, testing, observability, and incident response. Drive technical debt reduction and platform reliability improvements.
• AI-Augmented Development: Model and champion AI-first engineering practices — leveraging tools like Claude Code to accelerate design, implementation, and review cycles.
