Job summary

Overflow is a Series C fintech and SaaS platform empowering nonprofits and mission-driven institutions to grow generosity at scale. We seek a Senior Fullstack Engineer on the Growth team to architect self-service onboarding, seamless plan upgrades, and high-converting checkout experiences across new e-commerce touchpoints.

You will work at the intersection of engineering, product, and revenue to transform complex requirements into reliable, scalable features.

Qualifications

5+ years of fullstack software engineering experience.
Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
Deep experience designing scalable RESTful APIs and relational databases.
Strong product sense and understanding of product-led growth mechanics, conversion funnels, and user-centric design.
Leadership and ownership with ability to drive architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

Architect and build end-to-end Product-Led Growth features enabling self-onboarding and plan upgrades.
Own features from database schema to RESTful API design and frontend implementation (React/TypeScript).
Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to engineering standards and reviews.
Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data; run experiments and iterate to improve conversion.
Identify technical debt and contribute to architectural improvements for Growth surfaces.
Mentor junior engineers and participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability.

About the Role

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer on our Growth team, you will be the technical engine behind our Product-Led Growth (PLG) initiatives. Your work will directly impact how organizations discover, adopt, and expand their use of Overflow.

You will design and build the critical pathways that allow our customers to scale their generosity effortlessly. This includes architecting seamless self-service onboarding flows, creating frictionless plan upgrade paths, and standing up high-converting checkout experiences across new e-commerce touchpoints. You will sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and revenue, turning complex business requirements into intuitive, reliable, and scalable product features.

What You Will Do

Drive Product-Led Growth: Architect and build robust, end-to-end features that enable intuitive customer self-onboarding, seamless subscription plan upgrades, and highly optimized e-commerce checkout flows.
Full-Stack Ownership: Own complete features from database schema and RESTful API design (Node.js) through to a polished, highly responsive frontend implementation (React/TypeScript).
Engineering Excellence: Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, actively contributing to engineering standards and rigorous code reviews.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Design, and Data to iterate quickly, run experiments (A/B tests), and deliver high-quality user experiences that drive conversion.
Architectural Strategy: Identify technical debt and contribute to architectural improvements that enhance the reliability, scalability, and speed of our Growth product surfaces.
Mentorship & Reliability: Mentor junior engineers, help elevate the team's technical capabilities, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure the high availability of our systems.

What You Should Have

Core Experience: 5+ years of fullstack software engineering experience
Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and Node.js (or similar modern backend technologies).
Systems Design: Deep experience designing and building scalable RESTful APIs and working with relational databases.
Growth Mindset: A strong product sense and an understanding of product-led growth mechanics, conversion funnels, and user-centric design.
Leadership & Ownership: Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, make sound architectural decisions, and operate with a strong accountability mindset.

It’d Be Nice If You Had

E-commerce & Billing Experience: Hands-on experience integrating with billing and subscription platforms or building custom e-commerce checkout experiences.
Fintech Context: Experience in fintech, payments infrastructure, or donation platforms.
Startup DNA: Experience at a Series B or growth-stage startup, thriving in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
