Job summary

Uber Freight is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to design and build end-to-end systems powering our logistics platform. You will work across backend services, APIs, and React-based web interfaces, collaborating with product, design, and data science to deliver scalable solutions.

You will help define architecture, promote engineering best practices, and mentor peers while ensuring production health across frontend and backend environments.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years across backend and frontend.
• Strong coding skills in backend languages (Go, Java, Python, or C++) and frontend technologies (React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS).

Responsibilities

• Build End-to-End Applications: Design, develop, and maintain scalable fullstack services and interfaces using Go/Java and React.
• Lead System Architecture: Drive technical design and architectural decisions for frontend and backend systems.
• Champion Engineering Excellence: Advocate for testing, security, code maintainability, and deployment pipelines.
• Drive Scoping & Product Delivery: Partner with Product, Design, and Data Science to define technical scope and deliver features.
• Shape the Technical Roadmap: Identify debt, bottlenecks, and opportunities to influence direction.
• Mentor & Foster Culture: Guide engineers, conduct design and code reviews, promote shared ownership.
• Own Production Health: Troubleshoot and resolve cross-layer production issues.
