Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Senior Full Stack UX Engineer to lead map creation system work, from architecture to UI and backend services. You will build geospatial pipelines, translate complex map data into user-friendly web interfaces, and influence the tech roadmap with mentorship across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development delivering complex features from design to deployment.
• Experience building scalable backend services and modern WebGL/Web apps using React or Angular.
• API design, Python-based geometry algorithms, and cloud/DevOps familiarity (AWS, Kubernetes, Buildkite).
• Strong UX sense with attention to detail and user-driven UI alignment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration, with product ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the feature lifecycle for the mapping system from architecture to UI/backend implementation.
• Architect and develop geospatial distributed backend services and data pipelines for map data.
• Build responsive web applications translating datasets into intuitive products.
• Influence technical direction and roadmap; mentor engineers during reviews.
• Ensure code quality and maintainability through code reviews of web and backend code.
• Collaborate with cross-team and operations to meet mapping efficiency needs.
